Special Episode #1 — The 12 Drabbles of Christmas — Drabble the 1st

Welcome to part one of my special holiday series, The 12 Drabbles of Christmas. A drabble, for those of you who have not yet discovered Norm Sherman’s excellent weekly fiction magazine The Drabblecast, is a short story with exactly 100 words — no more, no less. They’re quite fun to write, and they’re good practice in the art of concise writing.

As you may have surmised by the title, I’ve produced an even dozen of them for the 12 days of Christmas. If all goes according to plan, all of them will be out by Christmas Eve. Stay tuned.

Hope you enjoy this first story. And if you don’t — you’ve only wasted three minutes of your life. A pittance, really.
